LEARN TO SWIM

Quality Swimming Lessons For All Levels

It’s never too late to learn how to swim!

To join TSWPC your child must first pass the 7 certification stages set out by Swim England.

The club have a partnership with the Pelican Centre to continue to develop children along the “swimmer pathway”.

If your child is attending the Pelican Centre Stage 7 swimming sessions you will see one of the Club Coaches/Teachers at the weekly sessions.

This person will be  monitoring the progress of your child and liaising with the Pelican Centre Teachers to ensure any transition from swimming lessons to the club swim session is “smooth and not too daunting” for them.  Part of this transition will be to invite your child to attend 1 weekly session at the club as well as continuing with the Pelican Centre lesson programme.

If they have completed Stage 7 at the Pelican Centre your son/daughter will be offered the chance to join the swimming section of the club where the club will continue to develop the skills and techniques required for them to become a competitive swimmer (if they so wish).

If a child has completed Stage 7 with a different pool operator/council lessons then they will be invited to attend for a swimming assessment.  This assessment will take the format of a 25 metre swim on all 4 strokes – Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Frontcrawl.

All the Coaches/Teachers are volunteers and they all have a Swim England qualification.
