I have been a member of the club for 5 years, and as well as teaching, coaching & lifeguarding I am also a member of the management Committee.  I have raced triathlon open water of all distances from sprint through to Ironman, my main sport is in open water swimming with all of my personal achievements based around triathlon. I am a qualified Kayak and Canoe instructor along with many other outdoor activities.”

“We have a strong focus on technique to give our junior swimmers the best long term potential possible. I believe we need to try and make our swimmers stand out and set them apart from the rest – a combination of fast and skilful swimming is hard to come by.”

I first qualified as a lifeguard in 2016 to help out at the club. I then passed my Level 1 teacher assist qualification a year later. I then moved onto my full teaching qualification after this. I transferred this across to my Level 1 Coach in 2019.

Personal Interests

“I really enjoy open water swimming. It is the freedom that you get when you lie back in the middle of the lake and look up at the sky.  I am planning on swimming the length of the waters in the lake district in 2021. I really enjoy being outdoors walking, camping, cycling.  I have completed all of the official coast to coast routes in the UK by bike (unsupported).  We now have two dogs who keep me busy outside of work and the Club. I love to travel and myself and Leanne are slowly working our way around the Scottish coastline.
