Nicola became involved in TSWPC at the age of 4. Swimming was her passion and she trained with Wigan Wasps and then Wigan Best (as it is known now). At the age of 14 she decided to try a new sport WATER POLO. Nicola was a member of the first ever Ladies Water Polo Team at TSWPC. Water Polo became her new passion. After the ladies team was disbanded she along with other Tyldesley Players joined Stretford Ladies Water Polo Team. This led to her representing our country. Nicola later joined the first Tyldesley Ladies National League Water Polo Team and played in this team for a number of years. She now plays for the English Roses Masters Team and continues to support and Coach the Tyldesley Ladies and Junior Teams.
“I am passionate about Water Polo and still train and play. It is important to train as you play and this is something I believe in. I train hard and play hard. It is important that swimmers and players listen to their coaches because there is a huge amount of experience at the swimming club and the athletes can learn a lot during training sessions, in matches and at swimming events.”

“I have had a lot of experience at the club, from my time as a swimmer and then as a water polo player. I have had a huge amount of support from the club during my time as an athlete and as a coach. I currently coach the u12’s Water Polo Team however I have coached all the junior squads at some point. I am assistant coach to my brother Lee Toone for the Ladies National League Team.
Outside the club environment I enjoy meeting up with friends and spending time with my family.
